There's nothing better than a good margarita after a long day. The classic cocktail comes in lots of variations, but you know it's a really good one when it incorporates lime and coconut flavor. Lime and coconut are the ultimate duo, with flavors that complement each other perfectly. And with the addition of tequila and triple sec? It doesn't get much better than that. But while the drink is traditionally associated with the warmer months or tropical vacations, you can absolutely enjoy one during the holidays.

This margarita recipe is easy, timeless, and festive. While the flavors of lime, coconut, and orange aren't necessarily festive, the color of the margarita is reminiscent of a snowy winter day. Topped with a lime wedge and fresh cranberries, this margarita tastes as good as it looks. If you're looking for a simple, festive twist on the classic margarita, this recipe can't be beaten.

    • 1 (14-oz.) can unsweetened coconut milk
    • 12 ounces of silver tequila
    • 8 ounces of triple sec
    • 1/4 cup lime juice
    • 4 cups ice
    • Lime wedge, for rimming glass
    • Sugar, for rimming glass
    • Lime slices, for garnish
    • Cranberries, for garnish

    INSTRUCTIONS

    1. In a blender, combine your coconut milk, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and ice. Blend until thoroughly combined.

    2. Circle a lime wedge around the rim of your glasses, and then rim the glasses in sugar. Add your blended margarita, and then garnish with a lime slice and cranberries.

    Notes

My margaritas turned out thick, so you may want to start with adding less ice and increase to reach your desired thickness.
